Mariah Malone wishes she had never written that letter. With her father dying she felt she needed to ask for forgiveness for him. Growing up on a ranch, bought with stolen gold, Mariah had everything she needed. Now with her father gone, the weight of keeping the ranch running and taking care of her grandmother and sister are all on her shoulders.
In rides Slade demanding the ranch as payment for the gold her father stole from his father so many years ago. Slade grew up poor, living hand to mouth and was always looked down upon by others. Now he wants what he thinks is rightfully his. The trouble is, he wants Mariah as much as the ranch. Can they put their father’s past behind them and move on to their future?
I really loved this book. Pam Hillman has a way with her characters. I wanted to hate Slade for what he was doing to Mariah and her family but I just couldn’t. He has a caring side you just can’t ignore. I’m waiting for the book on Slade’s brother Buck and Mariah’s sister Amanda. What a beautiful match that will be! Awesome writing and I highly recommend it!
