null Cullen Burnside, a disillusioned and disfigured veteran from the war, lives a drab existence with his mother Betty Ruth who slips further and further into dementia each day. Until Lily Margolis, a delightful and charming “flapper”, literally falls into their lives. After a night of dancing and drinking Lily, dazed and disoriented, twists her ankle and falls into the Burnside’s yard where she is found the next morning. Betty Ruth insists she stay and rest so her ankle can heal but neither Betty Ruth nor Cullen can forsee how easily Lily will worm her way into their hearts. Will Lily and Cullen find the healing and love they both so desperately need?

I absolutely loved this one! With Lily’s charm she will worm her way into your heart too. I kept finding myself turning the pages for more. Allison Pittman is a wonderful writer and I am looking forward to reading more of her work!
