Some Friends Are Just Worth Making.

Carrie felt a new strength welling up within her. She had survived. She had gone on. And as bad as she had felt at times, as hard as life without Scott could still be, she had kept living. At first, she had just gone through the motions, like a robot, not allowing herself to feel. But now she sensed that she was entering a new place. A place where she would no longer be afraid to really live again; to feel and hope again. Carrie Oakes finds herself dealing with a pain and loss so great that it drives her back home to Petal, Mississippi, where the most unexpected of emotional adventures reunites her with old friends, an old love?and into the crosshairs of a serial killer with a voracious appetite for the weak and comely. Will Carrie end up in the arms of Matthew Porter, a love she had long forgotten? Is she ready to open her heart to a new chapter in the life that God has planned for her? Or will she fall victim to the chilling nightmare that awaits her in the sick recesses of Jake Wasinski?s mind? A story of life and death, Second Chances presents a drama that is not far from reality and brings forward the answers to the common and oftentimes forgotten question of whether or not we should have a faith unwavering, even in the face of adversity.

Author Bio:

“I have had an interest in writing almost all my life. In grade school in Petal, MS while growing up, I would write short stories and my friends loved them. As I entered high school, I participated in Advanced Placement English courses which required a lot of technical and creative writing. My teachers always encouraged my writing ability and I continued to write poetry and short stories after high school. I also started on what was supposed to be my first book, but it was never finished. In my adult years, I journaled a lot and wrote some poetry. I love to read, mainly Christian fiction, and that passion played into my wanting to write a novel. So, in 2007, I decided I wanted to write a Christian romance novel. Once I had the idea in my head, getting started was easy. Bringing characters to life, creating a world all its own, is all so fun and exciting. It is like giving birth. There is nothing like knowing you are creating characters and situations with which others will be able to identify. Writing can
be tremendously hard work, but it is also very rewarding and entertaining. Once the book is completed, there is such a great sense of accomplishment and pride in the accomplishment.”

In her spare time, Kimberley enjoys reading, watching television, writing and being a mother. She is married to Shawn, and they have one daughter, Emily. She and her family currently reside in south Mississippi. Kimberley has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, a Master of Arts in Teaching.
